Another Great Year with Bridging the Triad .. Parks & Recreation Event
SKA were proud sponsors of “Bridging the Triad” competition on February 9th, a Triad Recreation & Parks Department event. The competition was for all ages (8-18 and adult) to show their design and building skills using popsicle sticks. Each participant received 100 popsicle sticks and white glue in which to build their bridge and had just over 1 week to complete their bridge. Each participant brought the bridge to one of five Triad locations where judges inspected them for compliance with the rules. Following inspection, judges broke each bridge by suspending weight until it broke completely. Our own Paul Benes served as a judge and enjoyed breaking bridges for a good cause! Other volunteers included Tonya Tatum, Scott Singleton and Carrie McClellan. Winners of this day’s event move on to the Regional Event on February 23rd. Download press release here. #EngineerWeek
