Ribbon cutting to be held Thursday, February 12
GREENSBORO, NC (February 12, 2015) – NC A&T’s new Student Health Center – a 27,000-square-foot, two-story facility – opened in January 2015. The state-of-the-art medical facility is designed to provide the highest quality health care for students and is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAA), fulfilling the University’s mission to “provide curative and preventative health care services to the students of NC A&T according to recommended standards, based upon current medical
and health related information.”
Services provided in the center include clinical, wellness promotion, health education, psychiatry, counseling, laboratory, and pharmacy. Spaces within the center include administrative offices, health instruction, and medical treatment.
To celebrate the opening of the space, NC A&T is hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony on-site on Thursday, February 12, 2015 at 4:00 PM at 112 North Benbow Road on the corner of Bluford Street in Greensboro, North Carolina. A reception will immediately follow the ceremony.
SKA’s scope of work provided structural engineering design, as well as commissioning for the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems and the building envelope. The project completed construction in the fall of 2014.
“SKA is thrilled with the success of the Student Health Center,” stated Emerson Crawford, P.E., structural department manager. “We are proud to be a part of the design team on this exciting project and part of the University’s mission to provide much-needed health care services.”
