SKA visits students at VT, lawyers at NC Law Conference, ends week judging Triad Parks Department Bridge Building Competition
SKA’s marketing department has been traveled quite a bit this past week. On Feb. 20th, Marketing Manager Morgan McEwen and Hilary Vickerman (of SKA’s Charlottesville office) attended the Virginia Tech Engineering Career Fair to talk to college students about SKA and current employment opportunities. Marketing and Business Development Director, Gary Corns, joined with Mike Parker, PE (of SKA’s Charlotte office), to exhibit at the NC Bar Construction Law Winter Conference in Raleigh on Feb. 22nd. The conference provided an overview of the 2017 changes to The American Institute of Architects (AIA) Contract Documents.
Once again, SKA jumped to be a part of an event in celebration of National Engineer’s Week. On Feb. 24th, Winston-Salem, High Point and Greensboro Parks and Recreation departments hosted three, simultaneous popsicle stick bridge-building competitions for kids and adults. Carrie McClellan, Marketing Manager, and Paul Benes, Senior Technical Specialist in the Building Solutions Group, volunteered to check in, judge and “break” the bridges. Winners from each age category and location will go on to compete in the March 10th event held at Bur-Mil Park.
