Tepke speaks at upcoming ICRI Spring Convention

Dave Tepke joins with Bryan Wood in this fascinating case study involving the assessment, repair and preservation of an NFL stadium. Issues presented include structural concrete repairs, joint replacement and aesthetic waterproofing to address deterioration and original construction defects that contributed to accelerated deterioration and leaking into conditioned spaces.  A condition assessment identified severely deteriorated concrete and missing and improperly installed waterproofing elements. The scope of work included new expansion joints; non-skid decorative waterproofing coating system at concourse level concession stands and flake finished system at restroom slabs; sloped bonded overlays with waterproofing coatings; precast concrete repairs; correction of guardrail conditions; sealants; and other repairs. The presentation will use aspects of the project to discuss key selection, specification, testing and mockup provisions for the aesthetic toppings. Unique project constructability and coordination challenges created by year round use of the facility will also be discussed. This project won the 2017 ICRI Carolinas Chapter Project of the Year Award.
