Working with Corley Redfoot Architects, Inc., SKA was selected to perform special inspections for a structural add-on addition to the Minges Coliseum at East Carolina University. During construction, engineers observed, inspected, photographed, and reported on construction activities, successes, and deficiencies. Such deficiencies included miss-aligned joint dowels and conflicts with a new steel beam grinder, which could potentially have led to cracking at the floor joint due to change in section. SKA made appropriate recommendations to the contractor to remedy deficiencies, allowing for a successfully completed project.
