SKA was contracted to assess the condition of the Nissan Stadium and develop repair documents for the waterproofing of the upper deck and upper concourse. Engineers identified water infiltration issues stemming from incorrect original installation of expansion joints (EJs), aged sealant, aged EJ’s and sub-roofs not being water tight, open drainage piping in mechanical chases, no waterproofing installed in bathrooms and concessions, poorly installed curb concrete, poor concrete slopes, thin topping slabs and cracking, and poorly placed topping slabs with cracking and scaling.
