Wake Forest University BB&T Field RepairsWinston-Salem, North CarolinaCloseSutton-Kennerly & Associates, Inc. (SKA) conducted a condition assessment and evaluation of BB&T Field on the campus of Wake Forest University in September 2005. The objective of this condition assessment was to identify structural and durability issues that should be addressed in the next two years to ensure safety and an extended service life of the structure. Our report included quantified information on the magnitude of the structural and maintenance repairs so repair costs could be projected. SKA also prepared contract documents for repairs. The West side stands repairs were completed in 2006. In 2009 SKA oversaw the structural repairs on the East side of the stands. These repairs included the construction of new restroom and concession facilities, new drainage system tie-ins underneath the stands, new deck coatings and sealants, concrete column repairs, raker beam repairs, and concrete corrosion mitigation. SKA designed repairs for corrosion induced spalls in the concrete, water management for the angle slabs, corrosion management of the existing structure, soil erosion and structural/waterproofing repairs.
