Recent tour of beautiful NC A&T ERIC Building
SKA recently was treated to a tour through the beautiful Engineering Research and Innovation Complex (ERIC) Building, located prominently at the main entrance to NC A&T State University in Greensboro (EYP Architecture and Engineering, Architects). SKA provided structural design, as well as MEP and building envelope commissioning for the project. The facility is top notch and everyone involved could not be more proud of the end result, not to mention the honor of impacting future engineers, some of whom may join SKA!
Jimmy Anderson, the Project Superintendent for Balfour Beatty Construction Company, began the tour with overall comments and congratulations to the University and Design Team. Shaban Kaji, NC A&T Project Manager, then led the tour and fielded questions. Jeff Perrier, the Structural Engineer, described many of the challenges arising from the building’s complex geometry and requirements for meeting the performance demands associated with the specialized research and laboratory spaces. SKA is thrilled to be a part of this project and happy to join with an incredible team to accomplish this challenging project: EYP, Balfour Beatty, RMF Engineering, Covington Civil and Environmental.
