One Wells Fargo Office TowerCharlotte, North CarolinaCloseTowering at an impressive 588 feet and 42 stories above the Charlotte, North Carolina, skyline, this high-rise serves as the headquarters for Wells Fargo’s east coast division. Noted as the fourth tallest building in Charlotte, it opened in 1988 and is considered Charlotte’s first postmodern high-rise structure. After the facility began experiencing water intrusion, SKA was engaged to investigate the façade to determine the need for replacement of the granite panel joint sealants and correct width of panel joints. The project involved preparation of waterproofing design documents for remediation of the exterior façade. Remediation repairs included total replacement of joint sealants, wet glazing windows, and installation of new head and sill flashings, as well as construction administration services during the remedial repairs. Later, SKA conducted an engineering investigation and provided consultation services associated with water intrusion at the exterior stone panel/window interface, including consultation and field examination services associated with the recommended repairs. From 2009 to present day, SKA performed limited visual observations and field adhesion testing on an “on-call” basis for the installation of new panel/window joint sealants. |
