Sandpiper Run Condominiums Buildings A and BPawley’s Island, South CarolinaCloseThis project consisted of window and door, stucco facade and structural concrete renovations at two beach front condominiums in Pawleys Island, South Carolina. Over 588 windows and doors along the balconies and courtyards were replaced and over 40,000 sf of stucco were replaced with new weather protective wall coatings. Renovations also included the replacement of all existing exterior stud walls along the balconies and portions of the courtyard walls with new stud framing, insulation and exterior sheathing, the replacement of guard rails and hand rails for the walkways, stairways and balconies, as well as new exterior coating and flashing systems for the walkways, balconies, soffits, parapet and exterior walls. Selective replacement was used at significantly distressed reinforced concrete and prestressed concrete components, while thermal spray galvanic protection was used as a solution to extend the service-life of balcony slabs in coastal exposure. |
