SKA provided structural design, contract documents and construction administration for this four-story, 95,000 square foot residence hall. The Central Drive Residence Hall houses approximately 300 co-ed students and is comprised of three buildings interconnected with bridges. Arranged suite-style, each suite consists of either four private rooms or two private rooms and one double room, along with a shared bath and living area. The residence hall also contains a large multipurpose room and two seminar rooms for meetings and functions. The foundation system is comprised of a shallow foundation system composed of continuous wall footings that bear on residual soils and compacted structural fill. The floor slab consists of precast pre-stressed concrete hollow core planks supported by concrete masonry unit bearing walls. The roof structure consists of wood roof trusses supported by concrete masonry unit bearing walls.
